HF-KOBOREZAKURA

Beautiful Japanese guitars from our friends Deviser in Matsumoto. The name, the Headway HF-KOBOREZAKURA, translates to ’fallen cherry blossoms’ with the back and the sides of the guitar made from laminated Japanese Sakura wood. No colouring is applied to the wood, allowing you to appreciate the warm, light peach coloured grain of Sakura wood which is also unique to each guitar produced.

The headstock and the fingerboard are decorated with mother of pearl  and abalone, depicting the cherry blossom in full bloom on the headstock, with their petals fluttering down the fingerboard.

The KOBOREZAKURA is based on the specifications of the late Yasuo Momose’s Headway Customshop Series Sakura guitars which were favoured by Japanese solo guitarist, Osamuraisan. This model was jointly developed by Headway and Osamuraisan, with adjustments made in various areas to make it more accessible.

Like the original guitar, a smaller body shape was adopted, and Sakura (Japanese cherry) wood was selected for the back & sides, while ebony wood with prominent stripes was chosen for the fretboard.
